Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to share openly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".
"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator
In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.
A court order placed a restriction on the investigation to restrict the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the active case.
The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of foul play, with a official listing noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the detractors last week. Talking on his program, Rogan described the statements as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a worrisome lack of empathy.
