The UK is set to progress with using the entire amount of frozen Russia's holdings to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the UK, France, and Germany stated that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's resources since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, previously, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had exclusively been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their desire to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the immobilized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that more measures soon would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This announcement follows European Union representatives convened in the Danish capital recently to consider using seized Russian assets for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or otherwise use seized Russia's funds, as reported by media sources.

The value of immobilized Russian assets in the European Union is assessed to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out widespread missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on recently, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and at least 20 people were wounded in the strike, the Ukrainian government said.

In a message on social media following the attack, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not mere statements but firm measures - from the America, Europe, and the seven nations - in providing defense mechanisms and applying penalties," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky told media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which partner nations acquire weapons from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While applauding the UK's firm backing for Kyiv, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the system, as well as impose more measures on the Russian Federation.
