Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Honors.

The tennis star in action
Aryna Sabalenka ended the tour with an impressive 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of High Performance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a record £11m in tournament winnings.

She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
