A group of ten found guilty of online harassment against Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

The those on trial faced accusations of disseminating fabrications regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to making malicious remarks about the husband and wife's significant age difference.

The court handed down suspended prison sentences of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has still to be made public.

A longstanding conspiracy theory claiming that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has been in circulation since her husband's rise to the presidency in 2017.

This latest legal outcome in France comes as the Macrons engaging in a legal action for defamation in the United States against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.

Their lawsuit states that Owens disregarded all credible evidence that refuted her assertions opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.

Owens has often echoed these assertions on her show and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would risk all her credibility on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.

Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she was a teacher at his secondary school.

The pair entered into matrimony in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
